Business Video FAQ
What are the benefits to hiring a professional videographer?
There are many benefits to hiring a professional videographer. And it really depends on your event or video needed as to some of those reasons. However, just most people hire a plumber when they have a leaky pipe because they are trained and experienced in working with that situation; likewise, professional (not a person that bought a camera) videographers have been trained to professionally conceptualize, shoot and edit video. Some other benefits are time savings for you, time savings (especially for businesses) and others.
where all will legacy productions travel?
Legacy Productions regularly works in the Greater Omaha area, including outlying areas such as Yutan, Waterloo, Fremont, Blair and others. Generally, we do not charge for travel, however, depending on the exact location, some video shoots do require a travel charge.
for wedding videos, how many hours do you cover on our wedding day?
The standard wedding package that Legacy Productions offers includes unlimited coverage on your special day
Do you offer special packages that are different from the standard wedding package?
Yes, on a case by case basis we will offer different options for your wedding day
how much time does it take to make a wedding video?
As discussed above, we offer unlimited hours the day of your wedding. After that, we go to create your wedding video during the editing stage and actually creating DVD's and Blu-Ray's; we spend a lot of time making the video perfect. Contrary to common belief, this process actually takes considerable time. On average, Legacy Productions will spend 25-40 hours working on your final video. This is because we don't have a "cookie cutter' way to make videos. Every couples wedding day is unique and special, and thus we make every wedding video unique and special.
How long before I will receive my final videos?
Honestly, we normally try not to get them to you too fast, but obviously don't want you waiting forever. The reason for the wait is multi-fold. We have other videos already in the queue to be edited, and by waiting some, it helps you appreciate watching the video as a memory, not as something that just happened yesterday. Generally though, we will have your final copies delivered to you between 8-12 weeks after your wedding day.
Do you offer service simply charged by the hour?
Yes we do. Normally there is some package or combination of services we can bundle together in order to create your project, however, if needed and in your best interest, we can simply charge by the hour.
I need a five minute video, how long should i plan to be shooting video?
While every scenario is different, a good rule of thumb is somewhere between the 10:1 to 25:1 ratio. This means that for every 10-25 minutes of actual recorded video, you should get 1 minute of finished/edited video. There is a lot of factors that can alter this both up & down, but that is why we will give you a detailed proposal prior to beginning the video shoot.
how long before i receive my finished video
Unfortunately, this question does not have a canned answer. There is a lot that plays into when your final product will be complete. These factors include, what else Legacy Productions has in queue to edit, how long your project is, and what final format you need your video to be in. We do offer rush services, so if you need your video quickly, please discuss this with the team member when going over your project.
What formats do you provide finished videos in?
We offer a large variety of final video formats. Since we shoot and edit in Native HD (best quality) we can output the final video to just about any type you need or want. Many popular formats are: DVD, Blu-Ray, YouTube, iPad optimized, smartphone optimized, web videos (many formats) and so much more. If there is a very specific format you need, more than likely we can create it, however, please discuss this with your Legacy Productions team member.
